After twenty years of marriage…

i just got a call from a friend who informed me that a brother whom i've known for a while and is an elder, just found out last night that his wife of 20+ years declared she was gay, and left him..

i still need to confirm but my friend is very reliable and was close friends with the family.

heres the thing, she spent 20+ years with this man, has children with him and now decides she wants to follow her heart.

Christians not knowing the Bible

last night a young man in a bar struck up a conversation with me.

our town is having our pride parade soon and he brought it up, the bible and how it's against the bible.

me being me, i said that i couldn't care less that it was against the bible and that it was a horrible guide for morality anyway.

I suppose the question is wether you believe the bible to be "authentic". In other words, do you believe the 66 books that make up the typical cannon are "inspired of God.." and all that. If so and you believe the instances in the bible many here have issue with to be true, than at the very least God has some explaining to do right?

If not, then its an account of an ancient people not meant to be taken as...errr....gospel.

Also.........................boobs.

Would you warn your neighbors if a child molester lived on your street?

just found out that someone who lives 4 doors down was convicted of molesting a 4 year old child twice.

the second time was after he was arrested and released on bond from the first arrest.

having two 4 year old children living in my home, i am concerned.

Nah. Instead why not write a letter to the community suggesting that his extraordinary attention to children is a happifying thing.

Last night's bible highlights: David was wrong to greive for his son!

last night's bible highlights was really eyebrow raising!

the brother pointed out at lenght about how david had wept when his son absalom was killed.

but that because absalom was killed while opposing jehovah that means that david was wrong and weak to greive for him.. it was applied to today by saying that if our children are df'd when they die then we should not grieve for them either!.

it amazes me how many times I hear from JW's that this doesn't happen anymore since they allowed fractions. they think nobody dies over this any longer.

What was your eye opening moment?

if you had to pinpoint the time or experience that finally made you open your eyes, what would it be?.

i think for me it was the time i saw my dad shun his brother who he had not seen in decades just because he was a da'ed jw.

i thought to my self "no way jesus would do that.

Blood. I simply felt that I had discovered that "we" were wrong, and that if i could speak to others about it, write the branch, talk tot he elders....that we would be able to change it and affect the brotherhood for good.

Nope.

The response was viserol, and it removed my cult personality. Pretty soon i was standing on the outside of it, ashamed of what i had been a part of, calculating how not to lose my life.
